The Kansas City Running Club has a long history of hosting running groups and events over the last 40 years. KCR was founded in 1976, the weekend before Patriots Day at the Eliot Lounge in Boston.  We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  We are proud members of the Road Runners Club of America and USA Track & Field.

KCR has hosted the Westport St. Patrick’s Day 4-miler since 1979.  The Wednesday Night Run began in 1981; it is a weekly group run and potluck that continues to this day.   The Brew to Brew 43 mile relay started in March of 1995, and remains our largest run of the year.  The Kansas City Running Club has hosted the Cliffhanger Run since 1997, ensuring that the scenic run that started in 1985 would continue to draw families to Kansas City’s historic Northeast neighborhood.
