When you think of Thanksgiving, what do you think of? Family? Turkey? Pie? Running? Fun? Then you must be thinking the same thing we are here at the Kansas City Track Club; Ward Parkway Thanksgiving Day 5k! This year, all runners/walkers receive a pie and a shirt! Those on the more competitive side can race a turkey to the finish line. Kids can take home a medal and a shirt by participating in the Fun Run. Families of four or more can compete for a tree, a spiral ham, and Starbucks coffee. Volunteers will get to choose a discount on an upcoming race. All of this, and you’ll be knocking out hunger right here in Kansas City as well. Harvester’s Community Food Network is our charity partner and they feed thousands of people weekly. (www.harvesters.org) If you’ve been assigned dinner duty and can’t make it to the race, we will miss you, but you can still participate by choosing our virtual race. As usual, if the KC Track Club is involved, fun is unavoidable. Don’t miss this one!
